Howdy partners.
I have some shows coming up in Vancouver this month that I’d like to tell you about.
This Wednesday (March 9th) at the Emerald, I’ll be joining Ron Samworth to play with his project Dogs Do Dream, along with Tyson Naylor, James Meger, Skye Brooks, and Barbara Adler. A fairly new project, Ron got this music and musicians together just last year. We’re working towards recording this music in the next months. Come see what we’re up to. [LINK]
This coming Friday, March 11th, Inhabitants (Dave Sikula, Pete Schmitt, Skye Brooks and I) will be playing at the China Cloud. It’s a great bill with Colin Cowan’s Elastic Stars, and Jenn Bojm. [LINK]
And then the following night (Saturday, March 12th) I’ll be taking another trip to the outer limits of space with Sun Ra’s Star System (Dan Gaucher, Colin Cowan, Ben Henriques, John Paton, Tyson Naylor, Skye Brooks, Chris Kelly, Lee Hutzulak, Jenn Bojm), again at the China Cloud. Gord Grdina will open the night with a solo set. [LINK]
Later this month, from March 23rd-25th is the 2016 edition of the Vancouver Improvised Music Meeting. I’m pretty stoked to be taking part again this year. Handmade Blade (Peggy Lee, Aram Bajakian and I) will be playing a set at the China Cloud on Thursday the 23rd. Then on Friday the 24th at the Western Front, I’ll be playing an improvised trio with Dylan Van Der Schyff and Seattle’s Robin Holcolm. Looking forward to this! [LINK]
