After enjoying a little down time, I’m pretty excited to get back into action, musically speaking, with a few upcoming shows here in Vancouver:

On Friday, October 28th, Gordon Grdina’s HARAM plays the VCC Auditorium. Featuring Jesse Zubot, Francois Houle, Chris Kelly, JP Carter, Tim Gerwing, Liam MacDonald, Jeremy Holmes, Kenton Loewen, Emad Armoush, and special guest from NYC Michael Blake on the saxophone. Doors at 8:30pm.

Speaking of Mr. Blake, I’ll be playing with his group VARIETY HOUR (Chris Gestrin/Michael Blake/JP Carter/Dylan Van Der Schyff) at the Tangent Café on Sunday, October 30th from 6-9pm. This will be a Halloween-themed performance 👻

Later that Sunday night, I’ll be making my way over to Merge to take part in a Tribute for Elizabeth Fischer. The music gets started at around 8pm. Looks like I’ll be playing a duo with my bud Kenton Loewen in the second set.

On Thursday, November 3rd, it will be my privilege to open up for Peggy Lee’s Echo Painting at the Wise Hall with a solo set. Doors are at 8pm.

Lee Hutzulak is doing an artist-in-residence at The Lido for the month of November. I’ll be joining Lee, along with Giorgio Magnanensi and Kenton Loewen, for an improvised performance on Wednesday, November 16th. Starts around 10pm. Here’s a LINK with the full schedule for Mr. Hutzulak’s residency.

Should be some good times indeed. And there’ll be more good times coming up later in the month; Fond of Tigers, Star System, Handmade Blade. But I’ll get to that later. Because there is literally nothing like the present.

See you around, JP
